Unfortunately it seems this is starting to be a common problem with the ESP - I have one as well but I have been lucky so far. This could be because I don't use it much!
It may be a faulty adjuster of course or it could be "stuck in a loop" in the logic or firmware which might be solved by disconnecting the battery - as was the case recently with my Pegasus - but as you no doubt know there is no way to do this on the ESP without dismantling the device.
